Blog Time Index Results

Okay so blogger does indeed publish posts according to the time / date stamp of the inital saved draft. When I published # 3 at first it was posted after # 2 despite being written and saved as a draft prior to # 2.

So in order to solve this problem I simply edited # 3 and changed the time / date stamp to fall between #1 and #2 and voila!

Nice to know this can be done.

Wish there were a way to preset blogger to post in order of publication not in order of draft. Oh well, at least there is a work around.

Important note: Remember to note the time / date stamp of the post(s) you want to position your post between so you know how to adjust the time index.

Cheers!

This is Blog Time Index Test # 2

And here is the second post. Hopefully, this will publish in the order I want it to! If not, then we shall have to play with the time / date stamp settings. And off we go again!

This is Blog Time Index Test # 3

Okay, so here is the third post. If all works as I hope it does, the order of posts will be # 1, #3, #2. Wish me luck!

Okay, so now I will change the time/ date stamp. Wish me luck again!

This is Blog Time Index Test # 1

Hello. We are here today to test if the entries on a blogger blog are posted according to the time and date they are first saved as a draft or if they are posted according to the time and date they are published.

So, I will save this post as a draft and then tomorrow I will write up another post (#2) and save it as a draft. I will then publish this first draft and immediately publish another (#3) post.

After sufficient time has passed, I will publish the second draft. Then I will observe the sequence of posts. This is the order I hope to see:

Blog Time Index Test # 2

Blog Time Index Test # 3

Blog Time Index Test # 1

However, if blogger indeed simply lists the posts according to the time/date of their initial draft, then the result will be thus:

Blog Time Index Test # 3

Blog Time Index Test # 2

Blog Time Index Test # 1

If this is the case, I will edit # 3 and change the time/date stamp so as to fit between # 1 and # 2. I shall then republish the post and observe the results.

This is Test of Photoblogging # 4: Images With Paint Captions

Well, hello again! Wonderful to see you! It is so nice to know that someone is interested in our work! Today we have just a very short test. We want to see how big a caption that has been added to an image with MS Paint has to be to be easily visible and legeble when the photo image is posted at small size.

Well, the first attempt is not bad at all really. The font size of the caption is 28 and the text is bold.
You just do as I say!
Let's see if it looks better at, say 38 font. That looks a little better. Overall I would say that the caption font size would have to be at least about 30. The bold helps too, I think.

Okay, one more time. This time let's try to put the capyion in its own black box below the image and make the font even larger.

Okay, well, we made the box too small, but overall I think that looks good. We need to make some adjustments, but I feel comfortable with that result. Good work everyone! Chin up to the bar!

This is Test of Photoblogging # 3: Insert Images Into Text After Text has been Published.

Hello again, Testmaster Grand Flash here, leader of the BigRuta blogger blog testing grounds. Have you enjoyed the tour so far? Yes? Splendid! We usually do not get guests here. Oh no! Our normal workdays are far too busy. We toil relentlessly to test the wonderful and yet frustratingly not well explained features of blogger. It is all so our master BigRuta can make his blog as appealing as possible. When we do well he rewards us with a day off and extra rations. When we do something he finds objectionable, like report unsatisfactory results, we are punished severely. However, some of us - no names - enjoy the punishment. It is so exciting!

You see, our master BigRuta, tried his hand at inserting photo images into his regular blogger blog and became frustrated with the results. He consulted blogger help, but found the available information less than satisfactorily helpful. He can be a bit picky when it comes to the concept of customer service, you know.

"WHAT! What was that you said GF!?"

"Oh nothing Master, nothing! Be at ease, we are working feverishly to complete this testing for you, never fear!"

"Good! And snap to it! I have a Santo review I want to post with lots of pics!"

"Yes Master. Of course your worship."

Well, where was I? Oh yes, the testing. We have already completed two photoblogging tests. The results are encouraging. The first test was to see exactly how images get inserted into posts buy the blogger software, and if the images could be posted as one writes the text. The second test was to see if images could be inserted into a post after all the text was completed. Now this third test is to see if images can be inserted into a previously published post using the post editor.

Yes it is all very fascinating. I enjoy my work immensely. And the beatings, of course!

This is Test of Photoblogging # 2: Insert Images After text is Fully Entered.

Well hello again! Fancy seeing you here! You must be very bored because this is simply a test blog. There is really nothing here that anyone besides myself and my master BigRuta would care to examine. You see, my master had some problems when he initially attempted to add images to his regular blogger blog. He became frustrated and quit in a rage. He does that often. he then beats me in order to take out his fury on someone. And because he likes to hear me scream. Additionally, he is well aware that i absolutely love that sort of thing.

Oh gee I see to have gotten off track. Ahem. Well, as I way saying, this is the blogger blog testing grounds of my master BigRuta. He established this rather elaborate facility in order to test all of the wonderful sounding, but highly obscure features of blogger. This particular test is being undertaken to answer the following question: Can one insert images into the text of a blogger blog post after the text has been fully entered?
I myself am hopeful. Our first image insertion experiment went rather well, except for the strange spacing encountered due to two consecutive lengthy words that were in the space to the left of a right aligned image. You see the second long word did not wrap and instead simply fell below the image. Perhaps the word was too large for the text margin provided.

The parameters of this experiment will be to type out all of the text first, then add images of the small size and with no layout specified. Then we shall attempt to move those images anywhere within the text post we wish. When the post looks satisfactory, we shall publish and observe the results. I do love this job!

This is Test of Photoblogging # 1: Insert As You Go

Can I add text here? Guess so.

Hi my name is BigRuta and this is my test blog. This is where I test out all the frightfully nonintuitive and user unfriendly features of blogger. That is if blogger is up and I can connect. And if blogger stays up and does not cut my connection every fifteen minutes or so. I posted to my other blogger blog last night. It took four hours. That really sucked.

So any way, this is a tutorial for me to learn how to use the image posting features of blogger. The last time I used it, it did not seem to work very well. This time seems satisfactory - so far. I will make several attempts to play with and shake-out this blogger feature before I am ready to try it on my regular blog. Why? Because I an a suspicious bastard, that's why!

Well, okay. I have set the layout option for right, midsize and it seems to be working so far. I inserted the above photo (the first photo, the one of the title screen of The Terror of Tiny Town) just after the first paragraph. The last time I tried this, all the pictures ended up bunched together at the top of the post. I was mad, to say the least. Right now I am satisfied. We will see if that continues. Because if there is one sure and certain thing in this crazy wild messed up insane loco nutcase world, it is that things change constantly and that computer software programmers can not be trusted. Sorry Doug and Greg, but I have been burned too many times.

And now, it is all fucked up! Dammit! I just tried to insert the second photo into this post (the one with the boom showing at the top of the screen). It should have been inserted below the above paragraph. But it is up at the top right next to the first image. This is the same thing that happened the last time I tried to insert images in posts! What am I doing wrong!

Ah ha! Now I have discovered that you can click and drag the images anywhere you want to within the post! If that is so, then why do they give you a choice of layouts? And why could I not find that helpful little bit of information in blogger help? Okay, so let's try it again and see what happens if I want to put an image to the left without changing the layout.

Okay, so the image of the penguin fist appears in the top right corner and moves the title card image to the left and the text down some. the second image stays where I put it. Now I will move the penguin image down below this paragraph and align it to the right. Here goes...

Ah ha! Now I see! I think. The image is always imported at the top of the post according to the layout rules you specify. You then have to move it to the point in the post where you want it,but you can not align it differently than the layout you chose. I could drag the penguin down, but could not get it to align to the right. Interesting. Wonder if there are any restrictions when you choose no layout?

Hmmmph. Well. This seems to be better than I at first attempt thought it to be. Wow! That was a crappy sentence! Oh well, whatever, this is just my test blog. No one will care. And if they do, so what. Screw you piss off! Apparently this is workable. I am going to try another post with no layout and type in all the text first, then add the images. We shall see, my pretties! Oh yes! We shall see! Heh, hee, hee, hee!
